Shounen Ninja Sasuke is one of those weird little SNES action games that never left Japan—which is a shame because it's got this goofy charm to it. You play as a kid ninja bouncing between rooftops, slashing at enemies with a short sword, and tossing shuriken like they're candy. The controls are a bit stiff at first, but once you get used to the jump arcs, it feels surprisingly smooth.
What really stands out is the art style—bright colors, big sprites, and these weird enemy designs that look like rejected Yokai Watch monsters. The first stage throws you right into a village under attack, and within minutes you're fighting giant frogs and dodging arrows from archers on pagodas. It's not deep, but it's got that old-school "one more try" energy when you barely scrape through a level.
Definitely one for fans of quirky retro action games. Just don't expect a masterpiece.
