Shodani Nintei - Shodan Pro Mahjong is one of those deep-cut SNES mahjong sims that feels like it was made for serious players. The moment you boot it up, you're hit with that classic 90s Japanese UI—dense menus, kanji everywhere, and no hand-holding. If you're not already familiar with riichi rules, good luck figuring out what's happening.

But once you get past the initial confusion, there's something satisfying about the way it plays. The tile physics have that slightly chunky SNES feel, and the AI opponents actually put up a fight.
