Okay, so Shadow, The (Proto) is basically an early version of The Shadow and The Flame—the follow-up to Prince of Persia on SNES. If you played the first one, you know the drill: tricky jumps, sword fights, and those awful spike traps that still give me nightmares.

This one throws you into way more locations though—palaces, caves, all kinds of places where the floors love to collapse under you. The animation’s smoother than the original, but man, some of those later levels? Brutal. You’ll be rewinding time a lot just to survive.

Fun little piece of gaming history if you’re into retro platformers with a side of frustration.
