About Shadow Run
Shadow Run came out for the Super Nintendo in 1993, developed by Beam Software. It was part of that wave of early 90s games that tried to blend different genres, creating something that felt distinct on the console at the time.
You control a man named Jake, who wakes up with no memory in a morgue. Your main goal is to find out who killed you and why, which involves exploring the isometric city screen by screen. You talk to contacts in bars to get leads, hack into computers for information and credits, and hire other runners for backup on dangerous jobs. The combat is real time, using guns and magic against corporate security and strange creatures. The world is unforgiving; a wrong turn or a failed negotiation can lead to a quick death, and you constantly manage your limited funds for gear and allies. Navigating the rain slicked streets and shadowy corporations makes the whole experience feel tense and uncertain.
