About Saturday Night Slam Masters
Saturday Night Slam Masters came out for the Super Nintendo in 1993, developed by Capcom. It was part of that era when arcade style wrestling games were finding a solid home on consoles, offering a different flavor from the more simulation focused titles.
You control one of several wrestlers, each with their own special moves, and your goal is to win a tournament by beating every opponent. The core mechanics are built around grappling, throwing opponents, and using a super meter to unleash powerful attacks. You can also perform team attacks in the four player battle royale mode, which adds a layer of chaos as you try to pin anyone while avoiding being pinned yourself. The pacing is fast and the difficulty can spike, especially when the computer decides to relentlessly target you. It feels like a frantic, exaggerated brawl where a single mistake can turn the match around completely.
