SWAT Kats on SNES is one of those mid-90s gems that somehow flew under the radar. You play as T-Bone and Razor, basically two cat vigilantes who blast around in a jet called the Turbokat, shooting down mutant monsters and crime bosses. The first level throws you right into it—barrel rolls, missile locks, and this satisfying "pew pew" sound when your guns hit.
What I love is how it nails that Saturday morning cartoon vibe. The sprites are chunky but full of personality, and the music has that classic SNES synth-rock thing going on. Some of the later levels get brutal—you’ll crash into buildings more than you’d like to admit—but nailing a perfect run where you dodge everything and unload missiles feels awesome.
If you grew up with the show or just dig weird retro action games, this one’s worth dusting off.
