SM Choukyoushi Hitomi Vol. 2 Remix is one of those weird, Japan-only SNES games that makes you go, "Wait, what is this?" At first glance, it looks like some kind of fitness trainer sim—Hitomi’s this strict coach barking orders at you while anime sweat droplets fly everywhere. But then you realize it’s actually a rhythm game, sort of? You’ve got to hit buttons in time with her commands, and if you mess up, she will call you out.
The controls are simple—mostly A and B with some directional taps—but the timing’s surprisingly tight. I kept missing cues because I was distracted by the ridiculous 90s workout outfits and the way the screen flashes when you nail a combo. There’s no English patch, but the menus are easy enough to fumble through if you just wanna jump in. Fair warning: the BGM is an aggressively cheerful synth track that’ll get stuck in your head for days.
It’s short, bizarre, and definitely not for everyone, but there’s something weirdly charming about it. You’ll either quit after five minutes or end up weirdly invested in getting a perfect score.
