SM Choukyoushi Hitomi Vol. 2 is one of those weird, obscure Japan-only SNES games that makes you go, "Wait, what is this?" It's a trial version of some sort of mahjong training sim—yeah, you read that right—with a stern-looking instructor named Hitomi who’ll drill you on tile patterns. The menus are all in Japanese, so unless you’re fluent, you’ll be button-mashing through most of it.
First thing you notice? The pixel art is oddly detailed for what’s basically a mahjong tutorial. Hitomi’s animations are weirdly intense, like she’s judging your every move. And the music? Super repetitive, but in that nostalgic, "I can’t stop humming it" way. If you’re into retro oddities or just want to see what niche Japanese devs were cooking up in the '90s, this is a bizarre little time capsule.
Fair warning: unless you’re actually trying to learn mahjong, the appeal wears thin fast. But hey, at least it’s short.
