About Smw - An Smwc Production
SMW: An SMWC Production came out in 2010 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It was a community project developed by members of SMW Central, a site known for Super Mario World hacking. This was a time when fans were still actively creating and sharing new levels for the aging SNES, keeping the platform alive through sheer enthusiasm and effort.
You control Mario through a series of interconnected levels. Your main goal is to find and collect five Star Coins hidden in each stage to unlock the final castle. The game emphasizes screen by screen exploration, often requiring you to backtrack with new power ups like the Cape Feather to reach previously inaccessible areas. Combat involves bouncing on enemies or using items, and the pacing is deliberate, with some puzzles demanding careful observation.
