Ryuuko No Ken 2 (or Art of Fighting 2 if you're not playing the Japanese version) is one of those SNK fighters that feels like it should be janky but somehow just works. The sprites are massive, the animations are over-the-top, and pulling off special moves actually takes some precision—none of that button-mashing nonsense.
It's basically the first game but with more characters (hello, Mr. Karate) and slightly less punishing difficulty. Still, don't expect a walk in the park—those AI opponents love to counter your desperation moves at the worst possible moment. The pixel art holds up surprisingly well, especially the dramatic zoom-ins during super moves.
If you're into '90s fighters with attitude, this one's a solid time capsule.
