Rushing Beat Ran—or Brawl Brothers, if you're playing the US version—is one of those classic SNES beat 'em ups that doesn’t get enough love. You pick from three fighters (I always go for the big guy—slow but hits like a truck) and plow through waves of thugs in a grimy cyberpunk city. The controls are simple—punch, kick, grab—but there’s a weirdly satisfying weight to the combat. Enemies ragdoll when you toss them, and the soundtrack’s got this crunchy synth vibe that fits perfectly.
It’s not as polished as Final Fight, but the two-player co-op is chaotic fun, especially when you start tossing goons into each other. Just don’t expect deep storytelling—you’re basically cleaning up the streets because some crime boss messed with the wrong brawlers. The Japanese version’s got a few extra tweaks, but either way, it’s a solid way to burn half an hour with a friend.
