About Rushing Beat
Rushing Beat came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1992, developed by Jaleco. It was part of that early wave of SNES games, a time when developers were still figuring out what the hardware could really do. You saw a lot of side scrolling brawlers back then, and this one fit right into that familiar mold.
You pick from one of three characters and fight through the city streets, moving from left to right. Your main goal is to punch and kick your way through endless waves of thugs to rescue a kidnapped woman. The combat feels weighty; you can grab enemies, throw them into others, and use special attacks that drain a bit of your health. The levels are linear, but they occasionally branch into different paths, and the pacing is relentless. You are almost always surrounded, which makes managing the crowd your primary focus. Playing it feels like a constant, hectic scramble to stay on your feet.
