About Royal Conquest (japan)
Royal Conquest was a Japan only release for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, developed by Koei. It came out during a period when the SNES library was diversifying, offering more than just the usual platformers and action games.
You control a young king leading his army across a fantasy continent. Your main goal is to unify the land by conquering enemy castles and defeating rival monarchs. The game is split into two distinct parts: an overhead map where you manage your kingdom, move troops, and engage in large scale tactical battles, and a side scrolling action phase where you directly control your king to explore dungeons, fight monsters, and find treasure. The strategic layer requires careful resource management, while the action sequences test your reflexes with sword combat.
