About Rocky Rodent (europe)
Rocky Rodent came out for the Super Nintendo in 1993, developed by Irem. It was part of that wave of fast paced platformers where every character needed a gimmick to stand out.
You control Rocky, a rodent hero who runs and jumps through levels to rescue his girlfriend. The main goal is to get from the start of each stage to the end, fighting weird enemies and dodging obstacles. His signature trick is his hair; you can collect power ups to change its style, giving you different attacks like a long range lasso or a rapid spin. The levels scroll by quickly, demanding quick reflexes, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly with some tricky enemy placements. It feels like a frantic dash where you are constantly reacting to whatever the screen throws at you next.
