Rockman X is basically the Japanese name for Mega Man X—same classic SNES action, just with all the menus and dialogue in Japanese. You still play as X, the rookie Maverick Hunter, blasting through Sigma’s army of rogue robots with your arm cannon. Zero shows up to bail you out when things get rough, and honestly, his saber is way cooler than your basic shots at first.

The levels are tight, the upgrades hidden in sneaky spots (that dash upgrade in Chill Penguin’s stage is a must), and the bosses still hit stupidly hard if you don’t learn their patterns. The music slaps, especially Spark Mandrill’s stage—you’ll hear those electric guitar riffs in your sleep. It’s the same game you know, just with kanji instead of English.
