About Rockman & Forte
Rockman & Forte came out on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1998, a late release from Capcom when many players had already moved on to newer consoles. It arrived near the end of the SNES lifecycle, a time when developers were pushing the hardware in interesting ways. This game is part of the Mega Man series, though it carries a different name in Japan where it originated.
You choose to play as either Rockman (Mega Man) or Forte (Bass), each with distinct movement and attack styles. Your objective is to stop a mysterious robot king by defeating eight robot masters in any order you select. The gameplay involves moving screen by screen through levels, jumping across platforms and shooting enemies with your arm cannon. You collect special weapons from defeated bosses, which you can then use to exploit other bosses' weaknesses. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty is notably high, with precise jumps and quick enemy attacks demanding your full attention. It feels like a challenging test of your reflexes and pattern recognition from start to finish.
