Rocketeer on SNES is one of those movie tie-ins that actually gets the vibe right. You’re basically living through the film’s big moments—chasing down planes in a dogfight, brawling on top of a blimp (yes, really), and sneaking through a warehouse full of goons. The controls are a little stiff by today’s standards, but once you get the hang of it, the jetpack sections feel surprisingly good for a 16-bit game.
It’s not just mindless action, either. Some levels mix in light puzzle-solving, like figuring out how to sneak past guards or time your jumps between moving platforms. And the art style? Pure comic book nostalgia, with those bold colors and exaggerated animations. Just don’t expect the blimp fight to be easy—that one took me way too many tries.
If you’re into retro action games with a bit of charm, this one’s a solid pick.
