Riddick Bowe Boxing on SNES is exactly what it sounds like—a no-nonsense, gloves-on boxing sim with the champ himself. The first thing you’ll notice is how weighty the punches feel, especially with that satisfying *thud* when you land a clean hook. Movement’s a bit stiff (it’s the 16-bit era, after all), but once you get the timing down for dodges and counters, it clicks.
You start off in a barebones career mode, working your way up through increasingly brutal opponents. The AI doesn’t mess around—expect to eat a few uppercuts while figuring out the rhythm. Oddly enough, the training minigames are weirdly addictive, especially the speed bag. Just don’t get too cocky after beating the early fights; the later bouts will humble you fast.
It’s not the deepest boxing game out there, but there’s something satisfying about its straightforward arcade-style brawling. If you’re into retro sports titles, this one’s a solid round in the ring.
