Revolution X is one of those weird, over-the-top arcade shooters that somehow got ported to the SNES—and honestly, it’s a blast if you don’t take it too seriously. You’re basically fighting a dystopian regime with the power of rock, blasting helicopters and goons with CDs (yep, CDs) while Aerosmith blares in the background. The controls are a little janky, but there’s something hilarious about watching Steven Tyler’s pixelated face cheer you on as you blow stuff up.
It’s not deep, but the sheer absurdity of the premise makes it hard to put down. Just don’t expect a masterpiece—this is pure, dumb fun with a killer soundtrack.
