I remember picking up The Ren & Stimpy Show: Time Warp for the Super Nintendo back in 1994. It was published by THQ, a familiar name from that era, and it felt like a lot of other licensed platformers trying to capture the show's chaotic energy on the 16-bit hardware. You control both Ren and Stimpy, switching between them to solve puzzles and fight through levels set in different time periods.
The main goal is to stop the villain Muddy Mudskipper from altering history. You explore levels screen by screen, using Ren's slingshot for ranged attacks and Stimpy's belly bounce to break certain obstacles. Each character has specific abilities needed to progress, forcing you to switch between them frequently to overcome environmental puzzles. The pacing is frantic, and the difficulty can be unforgiving, with some tricky platforming sections and enemy placements.
