Oh man, Ren & Stimpy: Fire Dogs on SNES is... well, it's exactly as weird as you'd expect from these two. You play as Ren and Stimpy dressed as firefighters (because why not?), running through chaotic levels putting out fires and rescuing cats from trees. The controls are kinda janky, but that almost adds to the charm—like when Stimpy's hose suddenly flails around like a possessed snake.
The art style nails the show's gross-out humor, with plenty of exaggerated facial expressions and gross little details in the background. Some of the platforming bits can be frustrating, but honestly, half the fun is just seeing what bizarre animation they'll throw at you next. That one level where Ren's nose inflates like a balloon? Classic.
It's not the most polished SNES game out there, but if you're a fan of the show, it's a nostalgia trip worth taking. Just don't expect it to play like Mario.
