So Ranma 1/2: Chounai Gekitou Hen got a weird makeover for the West—they stripped out all the anime charm and rebranded it as Street Combat, which is… a choice. It’s your basic early '90s SNES fighter—nothing groundbreaking, just punches, kicks, and a roster that feels like they forgot to balance half the moves.
If you’ve played Street Fighter II or Fatal Fury, you’ll recognize the setup: pick a character, mash buttons, hope your special move actually comes out. The Ranma version at least had the goofy anime flair, but this one’s just kinda there. Still, if you’re into janky retro fighters, it’s a weird little time capsule.
Honestly, I only fire it up when I’m feeling nostalgic for that era when every fighting game was scrambling to be the next big thing.
