Ranma 1-2 - Chougi Ranbu Hen is one of those classic SNES fighters that flew under the radar outside Japan. The sprites are pure 90s anime—big, colorful, and full of that exaggerated Ranma ½ charm. You’ve got all the usual suspects from the series, each with their own ridiculous moves (looking at you, Happosai).
It’s not as tight as Street Fighter, but there’s something fun about landing Ranma’s signature kicks or triggering Ryoga’s desperation attacks. The stages are packed with little details too, like the Nekohanten in the background or the occasional cameo from minor characters. If you’re into the manga or anime, it’s a nostalgia trip—just don’t expect tournament-level depth.
Worth a play if you dig quirky retro fighters or just want to see Ranma punch Kuno in the face again.
