Ranma 1-2 - Bakuretsu Rantou Hen is one of those weird, chaotic SNES fighters based on the Ranma ½ anime. You pick from a roster of characters who all have their own ridiculous transformations—Ranma turns into a girl when splashed with cold water, Ryoga becomes a tiny pig, and so on. The fighting itself is janky but fast, with special moves that feel overpowered in the best way possible.
What makes it fun is how unpredictable it gets. One second you're throwing punches, the next someone hits a bucket of water and suddenly the whole fight shifts. The sprites are surprisingly detailed for an SNES game, and the backgrounds are packed with little nods to the series. It's not the most balanced fighter out there, but if you grew up with Ranma or just love bizarre 90s anime games, it's a blast. Just don't expect Street Fighter-level precision.
