About Rhi Roller Hockey '95 (unreleased)
RHI Roller Hockey '95 was supposed to come out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1995, developed by GTE Vantage Inc. It was one of those sports titles that appeared late in the SNES lifecycle, aiming to capture the niche of roller hockey just as other companies were pushing into 3D on newer consoles. The game never officially saw a release, which makes it a curious piece of SNES history.
You control a five player roller hockey team, skating up and down the rink to score goals against the opposing team. The main objective is straightforward: win the match by outscoring your opponent. A couple of its mechanics include checking opposing players to steal the puck and using a turbo burst for a quick speed boost. The game moves at a brisk pace, and the computer opponents can be surprisingly aggressive, making it challenging to maintain possession. Playing it feels like a fast, physical arcade take on hockey, where quick reflexes matter more than complex strategy.
