R.O.M. Gold: Rings of Medusa is a 1994 strategy game released for MS-DOS. Developed by Starbyte Software and published by General Admission Software, it is an enhanced remake of the earlier title Rings of Medusa. The game blends arcade, fantasy, and managerial elements into a single campaign.

The player assumes the role of Prince Cirion, who must save his kingdom from the demon queen Medusa by finding five magic rings scattered across the land. Primary objectives involve raising funds to finance a military force, which is used to conquer cities and defend territory. Gameplay is divided between strategic map navigation and direct control of Cirion's squadron. On the overworld map, the player engages in trade between towns to generate income, digs for hidden treasures, and manages troop deployments to secure captured settlements. Travel carries the risk of bandit encounters, which can be avoided by using scouts to increase visibility.

When the player enters a city, an interface screen provides access to various managerial functions. These include buying and selling trade goods, recruiting new troops, gambling at a casino, and gathering information from temples. Combat occurs in two forms: direct, real-time control of the prince's personal squadron during engagements, and automated defense for other units based on pre-set plans. Progression requires expanding control across the mainland and eventually sailing to other islands, where further exploration, city conquest, and a final sea battle are necessary to complete the quest for the rings.
