About Puzzle Bobble (japan)
Puzzle Bobble came out for the Super Nintendo in 1994, developed and published by Taito. It was one of those games that felt right at home on the system, a straightforward puzzle title you could pick up between longer adventures.
You control a little dragon at the bottom of the screen who shoots colored bubbles upward. The goal is to clear the entire playfield of bubbles by matching three or more of the same color. The main mechanics involve aiming your shots and using the walls to bank bubbles into tricky spots; if you pop a group, any bubbles hanging below them will fall away. The game starts gently but the pace quickens, and the descending ceiling adds a real pressure. It feels satisfying to set off a big chain reaction and watch a crowded screen suddenly clear.
