Pro Mahjong Tsuwamono is one of those deep-cut SNES mahjong games that feels like it was made for people who already know their way around the tiles. The second you boot it up, you're hit with that classic 90s Japanese UI—lots of kanji, no hand-holding. If you're not familiar with riichi rules, good luck figuring out what's happening at first.

But once you get past the initial confusion, there's something oddly satisfying about the way the AI plays. The opponents have this weirdly expressive pixel art—they'll smirk when they're about to win or look genuinely annoyed when you steal a tile they needed. And the sound design? Those sharp tile clicks and the occasional "pon!" callout make it feel way more intense than it should.

It's definitely not for casual players, but if you've got patience (or a mahjong cheat sheet open on your phone), there's a solid game here. Just don't expect any English menus.
