Primal Rage on SNES is basically Street Fighter with dinosaurs—and honestly, that’s all it needed to be. You pick between these massive prehistoric beasts (my go-to was the fire-breathing gorilla, because of course) and just wreck each other in jungles and ruins. The controls feel a little stiff now, but back then, pulling off a fatality where your dino straight-up eats the opponent? Pure hype.
It’s got that classic arcade vibe—bright colors, over-the-top animations, and weird little details like sacrificing humans to regain health. The roster’s small but each fighter plays totally different; the raptor’s quick but fragile, while the t-rex hits like a truck. Just don’t expect deep combos—this is more about timing and chomping heads off.
Still holds up if you’re into janky ‘90s fighters with personality. Just try not to laugh when your velociraptor starts breakdancing mid-battle.
