Power Drive is one of those SNES racers that feels a little rough around the edges but has its own weird charm. You’re basically thrown into these chaotic, top-down tracks where the handling’s a bit slippery—took me a few crashes to realize braking before turns is non-negotiable. The tracks get pretty wild, with shortcuts hidden behind destructible walls and some obnoxious AI that loves to ram you from behind.
What’s cool is the variety—you’ve got standard races, elimination rounds, even a weird soccer mode where you knock a ball into a goal with your car. Graphics are chunky but colorful, and the music’s got that early ‘90s synth vibe. Not gonna lie, it’s janky in places, but there’s something satisfying about finally nailing a perfect drift on the ice tracks.
If you’re into retro racers that don’t take themselves too seriously, this one’s a decent time killer.
