Power Instinct on SNES is one of those weird, janky fighting games that somehow sticks with you. The roster’s full of oddballs—an old lady who fights with her purse, a sumo wrestler who belly-flops across the screen—and the controls take a minute to get used to. It’s not as polished as Street Fighter, but there’s something charming about the over-the-top announcer yelling "Ding ding!" before each match.
First time I played, I got wrecked by the CPU because I kept button-mashing instead of learning the weird charge moves. The stages are bright and chaotic, with crowds cheering (or booing) in the background. It’s definitely a "so bad it’s good" kind of game, especially if you’ve got a friend to laugh at the absurd special moves with. Just don’t expect tournament-level balance.
