About Powerinstinct
PowerInstinct came out for the Super Nintendo in 1993, published by Atlus. It was part of that wave of fighting games trying to find a spot next to the bigger names on the system. The game has its own style, a bit different from what was common at the time.
You pick one of several eccentric fighters, each with their own strange moves, and battle through a series of one-on-one fights. The main goal is to win the Grand Prize Matrimony martial arts tournament. A couple of its notable mechanics are the ability to transform into a more powerful version of your character mid-match and the family-based teams you can sometimes form. The pacing is fairly quick, though the difficulty can spike sharply against certain opponents. It feels like a scrappy, unconventional brawler that does things its own way.
