Populous on SNES is one of those games where you feel like an absolute menace—in the best way possible. You start as a god with a single follower plopped into this wild, uneven landscape, and from there, it's all about terraforming, expanding, and smiting your rival deity's worshippers. The terrain is your weapon: flatten hills so your people can build, then drown enemies by lowering the land under them or erupt a volcano right in their backyard. It's petty divine warfare at its finest.

Your followers multiply if you give them space, and once you've got enough, you can turn one into a hero—this beefed-up zealot will march straight into enemy territory, burning everything in sight. The catch? If he dies, you're back to square one. The other god is doing the same, so it's a race to see who can wreck the other's civilization first. Nothing beats the satisfaction of flooding the entire map and watching the enemy's lowland villages get swept away. Just don't get too cocky—they can do it right back to you.

It's chaotic, strategic, and weirdly addictive once you get the hang of bending the world to your will.
