Populous II on SNES is one of those god games where you play as a deity shaping the land and messing with mortals—except this time, you're dealing with Greek mythology. Zeus, Hades, and the gang are all here, and they’ve got opinions about how you run things.
You start by molding hills and valleys, then drop little worshippers onto the map. They’ll build villages if you nudge them right, but half the fun is drowning them in floods or smiting them with lightning when they get annoying. The controls take a minute to get used to (that SNES D-pad wasn’t made for precision terraforming), but once it clicks, you’ll be rearranging whole landscapes like a petty Olympian.
It’s got that classic Bullfrog charm—equal parts strategy and chaos. Just don’t expect the graphics to blow you away; this is peak early-90s pixel divinity.
