Pop'n TwinBee is one of those SNES shooters that feels like a Saturday morning cartoon—bright, cheerful, and packed with little details that make it stand out. You pilot this adorable little ship, blasting away at enemy formations while dodging bullets that somehow look friendlier than they should. The power-up system is classic TwinBee: you shoot floating bells to change their color, then grab them for shields, speed boosts, or screen-clearing bombs.

What surprised me was how much personality it has—enemies explode into goofy animations, and the music has this weirdly catchy carnival vibe. It’s not as punishing as some shooters, but those later stages still get frantic when you’re juggling bells and trying not to crash into a popcorn-shaped boss. The Game Boy version exists, but the SNES one’s where the colors really pop (pun kinda intended).

If you’ve played Parodius, it’s got that same playful energy, just with less penguins and more pastel explosions.
