I picked up Poko-Nyan! Henpokorin Adventure for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System back in 1994. It was developed by Tom Create, a name you don't hear too often, and it fits right in with the kind of colorful, exploratory platformers that were common on the SNES. It never became a household name, but it had its own quiet charm.

You control a cat-like character, moving screen by screen through a large, interconnected world. The main goal is to explore the environments thoroughly, searching for hidden items and pathways. A key mechanic is using your character's stretchy, prehensile tail to grab onto hooks and swing across gaps, which requires some careful timing. You also collect various power-ups that grant temporary abilities, like a bubble you can ride on water.
