Pokémon SkyLine is one of those fan-made GBA hacks that actually feels polished—like someone took the classic Pokémon formula and gave it a fresh coat of paint. You start off in this neon-lit city instead of the usual sleepy hometown, and your first rival battle happens on a rooftop. Weird, but kinda cool.

The sprites are crisp, the music’s got this synth-y vibe, and the wild Pokémon mix is just different enough to keep you guessing. I picked the fire starter (old habits die hard) and immediately ran into a wild Shinx, which… wasn’t in the original games, so that was a nice surprise. The battles feel snappy, and the new locations actually make sense instead of being random mashups.

It’s still a beta, so don’t expect a full 8-gym adventure yet, but what’s here is way more fun than most official demos. If you’ve got a GBA emulator lying around, this one’s worth booting up.
