Pokemon Ruby Destiny Rescue Rangers Game

Pokémon Ruby Destiny Rescue Rangers is one of those weird, fun ROM hacks that takes the usual Pokémon formula and flips it on its head. Instead of just catching and battling, you're leading a squad of rescue Pokémon—think Mystery Dungeon but with a fresh twist. The sprites are a little rough, but the gameplay’s surprisingly deep once you get into it.
You start off picking your team from a handful of Pokémon, each with their own quirks—I went with a Totodile that somehow ended up being way more useful than I expected. Missions are bite-sized at first, but they ramp up fast, throwing puzzles and enemy swarms at you. It’s not polished like an official game, but there’s charm in the jank.
If you’re into GBA hacks that try something different, this one’s worth a few hours of your time.
