Pokémon Psychic is one of those weird little GBA ROM hacks that turns the usual formula on its head—this time, every Pokémon is a Psychic type. Yeah, even the ones that really shouldn’t be. Watching a psychic Geodude float around using telekinesis is equal parts ridiculous and weirdly charming.

The game’s basically FireRed/Leaf Green but with all-new matchups, so battles get chaotic fast. Your starter choices are all Psychic too, which means you’re either rolling with a brainy Bulbasaur, a mind-reading Charmander, or… well, let’s just say Squirtle with psychic powers looks like it’s constantly questioning its life choices.

It’s not the most polished hack out there, but if you’ve played the originals to death and want something silly to mess around with, this one’s good for a laugh. Just don’t expect Alakazam to feel special anymore when everything’s throwing psychic punches.
