Pokémon Flora Sky is one of those GBA ROM hacks that actually feels like a proper Pokémon game—just with way more stuff to do. You start off in a new region with some wild weather shifts (storms out of nowhere, sunny patches in weird places), and before long, you realize there’s this whole dimensional rift thing messing with the world. The usual gyms and trainers are there, but the story’s got this weirdly intense vibe, like someone cranked up the stakes from the usual "collect badges" routine.
Oh, and the Pokémon selection? Solid. You’ve got some unexpected picks early on, plus a bunch of legendaries woven into the plot. I remember getting stuck for way too long trying to figure out where Rayquaza was hiding. Pro tip: bring repels.
If you’ve burned through the main games and want something familiar but fresh, this one’s worth the playthrough.
