Pokemon Dream Game

Pokémon Dream is one of those fan-made GBA hacks that actually feels like a proper Pokémon game—just weirder in the best way. You start off in this dreamy, slightly off-kilter region where some of the usual rules don’t apply, and the Pokémon roster is a mix of classics and some wild new additions. First time I booted it up, I got stuck for like five minutes just staring at the title screen because the music was oddly hypnotic.
It’s got that familiar Pokémon loop—catch, battle, grind—but with enough twists to keep you guessing. Some of the gym leaders pull moves you wouldn’t expect, and there’s this whole dream mechanic where certain areas shift when you revisit them. If you’ve ever wanted to play something that feels both nostalgic and fresh, this one’s a solid pick for a lazy weekend.
