Pokemon Aqua (red Hack) Game

Pokémon Aqua is a fan-made hack of the original Pokémon Red, but with a twist—everything's water-themed. You still start in Pallet Town, but instead of the usual Charmander or Bulbasaur, your first Pokémon choices are all water types. I went with the little turtle dude (Squirtle’s cousin, basically), and let me tell you, surfing through the early routes feels way more fitting here.
The trainers have been swapped out for sailors and swimmers, and even Team Rocket got a makeover—they’re pirates now, which honestly makes way more sense for a water-heavy adventure. The maps are tweaked too, with more islands and bridges, so exploration feels fresh even if you’ve played the original a hundred times.
It’s still classic Pokémon at its core, just with a splash of something different. If you’ve ever wanted to take on the Kanto region with a team full of water types, this is the hack for you.
