About Plok! (japan)
Plok! came out for the Super Nintendo in 1993, developed by Software Creations and published by Nintendo. It was part of that wave of inventive platformers that tried to stand out with a unique visual style and a strange central concept.
You control Plok, a character whose main ability is throwing his arms and legs as projectile weapons. Your goal is to recover his stolen grandpappy's flag from the evil fleas who have taken over his island. The game is structured screen by screen, with you clearing each area of enemies and obstacles to progress. A key mechanic is that you must retrieve your thrown limbs to use them again, which adds a layer of strategy and risk to the combat. The pacing is brisk, but the difficulty can spike sharply in later stages, demanding precise jumps and quick thinking. Playing it feels like a constant, frantic scramble to keep yourself in one piece.
