Ever played one of those old-school SNES side-scrollers that feels like it was ripped straight from a Saturday morning cartoon? That's Pirates of Dark Water for you. You're basically jumping, slashing, and dodging your way through levels that look like they were pulled right out of the show—bright colors, weird creatures, and all.
At first, the controls feel a little stiff (it's an early '90s game, after all), but once you get the timing down for sword swings and jumps, it's weirdly satisfying. Some of the enemy designs are just bizarre—like, who thought a floating jellyfish with teeth was a good idea? But that's part of the charm.
If you grew up with the cartoon or just love janky retro action games, this one’s a fun little time capsule. Just don’t expect anything groundbreaking.
