About Pinocchio
Pinocchio on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System came out in 1996, published by Virgin Interactive. It was one of those later SNES releases that arrived when the platform was already crowded with classics, a side-scrolling action game based on the Disney film. You don't see it mentioned too often, but it was there.
You control Pinocchio through a series of levels that follow the movie's story. Your main goal is to rescue Geppetto from Monstro the whale. The gameplay involves moving screen by screen, using a hammer to fight off enemies like puppets and foxes. You also collect items, such as coins to buy hints from Jiminy Cricket or health-restoring apples. The jumping can feel a bit stiff, and some sections demand precise timing to avoid hazards. It's a straightforward experience that captures the look of the film while providing a decent, if sometimes challenging, run through its world.
