Picross NP Vol. 1 came out in 1999 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, published by Nintendo as part of their Nintendo Power download service in Japan. It arrived late in the SNES lifecycle, a time when these downloadable puzzle games offered a different kind of value for players who had exhausted the console's bigger releases.
You control a cursor to solve nonogram puzzles, filling in or marking off squares on a grid. The main objective is to reveal a hidden picture by carefully interpreting the number clues along the top and left side of the board.
