I remember picking up The Pagemaster for the Super Nintendo back in 1994. It was developed by Probe Software, and it came out during that period when movie tie-in games were everywhere on the system. You play as Richard Tyler, the boy from the film, who gets transported into a living library after a storm.

You control Richard through a series of themed worlds, like Adventure and Horror, viewed from an overhead perspective. Your main goal is to find the Pagemaster by navigating these interconnected, screen-by-screen areas. The gameplay involves a lot of exploration, using a slingshot to defeat enemies and searching for keys to unlock doors. You also collect pages scattered throughout the levels, which is a central mechanic for progression. The game can be challenging, with some tricky enemy placements and precise jumps required. Moving through its colorful, book-inspired worlds feels like a straightforward, if sometimes difficult, Saturday morning cartoon adventure.
