About Pac-man & Pac-panic
I picked up Pac-Man & Pac-Panic for the Game Boy Color back when it was new, a Namco release that fit right in with the portable puzzle games of the time. It was a simple cart to carry around, offering a couple of different ways to play when you had a few minutes to spare.
You control Pac-Man, of course, moving him through single-screen mazes to clear all the dots while avoiding the ghosts. The main goal is straightforward: eat everything without getting caught. One mode plays like the classic arcade game, while the other, Pac-Panic, is a tile-matching puzzle where you remove groups of the same fruit to progress. The pacing is quick, and the difficulty ramps up as the ghosts get faster and the puzzle boards get more complex. It feels satisfying to clear a tricky screen or solve a puzzle under pressure.
