About Pga Tour Golf (japan)
Electronic Arts released PGA Tour Golf for the Super Nintendo in 1992, a time when sports simulations were finding a solid footing on the 16-bit console. It was one of the earlier golf games on the system, setting a template that would be expanded upon in later years.
You control a professional golfer, aiming to win tournaments by posting the lowest score over multiple rounds. The core of the game is the three-click swing meter; you press a button to start the meter, again to set power, and a final time to determine accuracy. You also manage your golfer's position on the course, selecting different clubs and accounting for wind and terrain. The pacing is deliberate, requiring focus on each shot, and the difficulty comes from reading the greens and executing consistent swings. It feels satisfying to sink a long putt after carefully judging its break.
