PGA Tour Golf on SNES is one of those early golf games that somehow nails the feel of the sport despite the 16-bit limitations. You pick your golfer—some have better power, others more control—and then you're staring down a fairway with that classic top-down view. The swing mechanic is simple but satisfying: hold the button to charge power, release to swing, and pray you didn't overshoot the wind adjustment.
The courses look basic by today's standards, but back then, those pixelated sand traps and water hazards felt legitimately intimidating. Miss your approach shot by a little? Good luck with that brutal green slope. The commentary is hilariously sparse ("Nice shot!" gets old fast), but there's something weirdly addictive about grinding through a full 18 holes, especially in tournament mode where every putt actually matters.
It's not the flashiest golf game out there, but if you're into retro sports titles, this one holds up better than most. Just don't blame me when you three-putt from five feet away.
