PGA European Tour on SNES is one of those old-school golf games that somehow still holds up. The greens look pixelated as hell, but there's something satisfying about lining up your shot with that little power meter—especially when you nail a perfect swing and watch the ball arc just right.
You start off with a few basic clubs and a handful of European courses that actually feel distinct—some have brutal roughs, others are all about avoiding water hazards. I remember getting stuck on the Scottish course for ages because the wind kept wrecking my long shots. And yeah, the putting can be brutal if you don't read the grid lines carefully.
It's not as flashy as modern golf sims, but there's a weird charm in how straightforward it is. No microtransactions, no grinding—just you, a digital caddy, and some surprisingly tense tournament play. If you've got a soft spot for 16-bit sports games, this one's still a solid round.
